Welcome to The Well Worn Shoes!

I believe that every place has a story and traveling doesn’t necessarily mean you need to travel across the world. You can explore your own city or even your own country and find completely amazing places! I try to avoid the tourist traps and would prefer mountains over cities any day of the week (although I do love cities too). I want to explore all of the hidden gems but my love of history usually means I end up at every single castle, battlefield, or National Park along the way.

Let me introduce myself and my travel pups:

I’m Vanessa, a 30 something, traveler/total history nerd. I love nature and am slightly obsessed with visiting National Parks and wolves. I am by no means a photographer, but it is a hobby of mine and I love learning new things and trying to improve my photography skills. I love the UK and Ireland. I love to hike and go camping. I almost always have music playing and my superpower is knowing the lyrics to every single 80’s hairband and 90’s song. You can get to know me a little more here

Meet Loki & Freya:

These are my travel buddies, Loki and Freya. Loki is my mischievous, evil genius. While Freya is my sweet but sassy little lady! Both of my huskies love to be outside, get dirty, and play in water! Having two huskies is so much fun but it’s also a bit like living with a tornado! One things for sure, when these huskies are with me life is definitely an adventure.
