We’ve officially parked it on the coast of MAINE We’ve officially parked it on the coast of MAINE for the summer — and I’m still emotionally unprepared.

When I lived in New England for 7 years, Maine was the escape, MY escape.

Every long weekend? Maine.
Need to clear my head? Maine.
Craving a lobster roll I definitely couldn’t afford? You guessed it.

But I never — and I mean never — thought I’d get to spend an entire summer here, tucked between the pines and the sea, waking up to salty air and foggy mornings like it’s the opening scene of a moody indie film.

This season feels like a gift, and I can’t wait to see what the Maine coast has in store.

(Manifesting tide pools, sea shanties, and a deeply unnecessary collection of cozy nautical sweaters.)

Also @that_nomad_brian is going to be a kayak guide here this summer so if you’re visiting let us know!

🦞⚓️🌊🌅🫐 Follow @thewellwornshoes for more Maine goodness this summer!!

Floating through a Louisiana swamp with gators 🐊 , dragonflies, and existential questions.

The Spanish moss dripped. The water barely moved. The gators? Unbothered, hydrated, in their villain era.

Floating through the 7,000 acre Honey Island Swamp is strangely peaceful—like Mother Nature whispered, “shhh... this part’s just for you.”

If you’ve never done a swamp tour, add it to your list - it’s really close to New Orleans and so worth it!

It’s haunting, beautiful, and deeply underrated.

We loved @cajunencounters (shout out to our captain, Randy (or Blueberry🫐 - he was great!!)

They are ethical too (no marshmallow baiting here)!

Would you wake up at 4:30am for this kind of peace Would you wake up at 4:30am for this kind of peace? Because same—and no regrets.

Cape Breton Highlands served up a surreal sunrise. Cold fingers, warm coffee, and that kind of silence that makes your brain exhale for the first time in days. Not even going to lie the 🦞 lobster boats were the 🍒 cherry in top 👌🏻

Nova Scotia is a whole vibe, and if you’re planning a road trip? Add a sunrise in Cape Breton Highlands National Park to your list! No debate.

I wanted to see a bear on our trip to @greatsmokyn I wanted to see a bear on our trip to @greatsmokynps last month. It was my only goal, really! ((Poor @that_nomad_brian had to deal with my shenanigans 😂 - I give him all the credit for finding all the bears we saw))

I’ve been to the Smokies 4 other times and had never seen one - the weird thing is, I’ve seen bears - lots of them. I just really wanted to see one HERE for some reason.

I saw at least 5 bears on this trip 💚 But this one was my favorite - just playing and climbing!

There’s a reason Cades Cove is a top wildlife spot—and after this, I get the hype.

If your dog had thumbs, they’d book the trip the If your dog had thumbs, they’d book the trip themselves.

This is your proof that Acadia isn’t just for lobster rolls and lighthouses—it’s a pup’s paradise too.

Acadia is basically a VIP playground for pups:
🐕 Carriage Roads = 45 miles of tail-wagging freedom
💦 Jordan Pond = picturesque vibes + hydration station
🌲 Forest trails = 14/10 sniffability
🪑 Picnic spots = ideal for treat negotiations

My adventure sidekick gave it two paws up and one muddy belly.
Because the only thing better than chasing views?

Watching them chase squirrels (and dreams).

Whether you’re leash-training a trail newbie or rolling with a seasoned wilderness woof, Acadia is a doggo-approved escape that doesn’t skimp on the wow.
